The Apple OS X User Group tour comes to the Telford Community Building in Telford, PA, on Thursday, Aug. 2, at 6:30 p.m.

The public is invited to join members of area MUGs (Mac User Groups) from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, New York, Connecticut, and Virginia at the event. There will also be Apple Solutions Experts, resellers and a special presentation from Apple senior systems engineer and MUG evangelist, Dave Marra. Marra will not only present Mac OS X, but will go through the entire installation process. Another special guest will be Garr Reynolds, Apple Worldwide User Group Manager.

The event will feature raffles, prizes and more. Pizza, munchies and other goodies will be served along with beverages. If you plan on attending, you better RSVP to Jacki Moore. Your RSVP must include: your name, your MUG name (if appropriate), your e-mail address, your telephone number (in case of last minute changes) and the number of tickets you’d like (there’s a maximum of four tickets per order and/or household).

Thanks to the Bux-Mont Macintosh Users Group and their sponsors at The Computer Forum, MacOutfitters, Grafton Piano and Organ, and Size Thirteen Music, this event is free if you RSVP. The Bux-Mont MUG Web site will have details on location, directions and participation soon.

How to start up in macOS from Windows

  1. From the notification area on the right side of the Windows taskbar, click to show hidden icons.
  2. Click the Boot Camp icon .
  3. From the menu shown, choose Restart in macOS.
    If you haven't installed the latest Boot Camp updates, you might get the message ”Could not locate the OS X boot volume.'

Or use Startup Manager as your Mac starts up:

  1. Restart your Mac from the Start menu in Windows.
  2. Press and hold the Option (or Alt) ⌥ key as your Mac begins to restart.
  3. Select your Mac startup volume (Macintosh HD) in the Startup Manager window, then press Return or click the up arrow:

How to start up in Windows from macOS

  • Use Startup Manager to choose your Windows (Boot Camp) volume during startup.
  • Or select your Boot Camp volume in Startup Disk preferences, then restart.
